Bombay Flying ClubDenmark was the first country to sign the UN Convention relating to the status of Refugees in 1951, and since then the small Scandinavian nation has received and helped numerous refugees. Over the past decade, however, national legislation have been tightened repeatedly leading to international criticism. The danish people are torn between national interest and international human rights. Bombay Flying ClubStreetlight is a web documentary about street children in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The story documents the work carried out by the Danish-Ethiopian NGO Hope For Children and it is presented in full screen Flash. The Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa is home to thousands of migrant workers - many of them children - who have been brought in from rural areas to work as slaves, especially in prostitution and in the weaving industry. Wasteland
Bombay Flying ClubFor almost a century Jharia coal fields have been on fire in the Indian state of Jharkhand, due to poor mining techniques. Many of the people who live on the burning fields survive by collecting coal illegally. The coal is burned and then transported to nearby markets for very little money. A resettlement plan has been put in place, but the area's residents are reluctant to move to safer grounds because the coal earns them their livelihood... More…

Life After The Tsunami
Bombay Flying ClubOne and a half million people became homeless in just a short moment when a huge tsunami swept in over the countries in Southeast Asia during Christmas 2004. DanChurchAid collected approximately 13.15 million USD for the tsunami-relief. The money was spent on emergency assistance in India and Sri Lanka, for the reconstruction of solid houses, help to the fishing communities, boats, fishing nets and microcredits. But the money was also spent on people who were indirectly affected e.g. the Dalits who did not own land or boats. Now, four years have passed and the programme has been closed down.Come along and visit some of the people who benefitted from the assistance from Denmark. More…
